Baxters Pharmacy is a family run pharmacy in the heart of Longford town for over 30 years. In 2019 local sisters and pharmacists, Kate and Jane Symth, took over ownership of the pharmacy from Luke Baxter who had owned the pharmacy for 30 years. Prior to Luke Baxter, it was Ellis' pharmacy; later Jim Grehan's, and older residents would remember it earlier as Mastersons, who had a horse tack and giftware store there.
Kate is a qualified Pharmacist who has worked in community for the last 15 years. She trained in Trinity College Dublin.
Jane is a qualified Pharmacist and has also lectured extensively in Trinity College, RCSI and Univeristy College Cork. She qualified as a Pharmacist in Trinity College Dublin.
